Light/Force-Sensitive 0D Lead-Free Perovskites: From Highly Efficient Blue Afterglow to White Phosphorescence with Near-Unity Quantum Efficiency

Shangwei Feng et al.

Summary: New types of zero-dimensional perovskites with blue room-temperature phosphorescence were obtained and found to be highly sensitive to external light and force stimuli. The quantum yield of blue phosphorescence was enhanced and high-efficiency white phosphorescence was achieved by introducing Sb3+. This work overcomes the challenges of low quantum yield and short lifetime of blue phosphorescence, providing a feasible method for achieving high-efficiency white phosphorescence.

Stimuli-Responsive Self-Assembly of π-Conjugated Liquids Triggers Circularly Polarized Luminescence

Ayumi Ikenaga et al.

Summary: A novel room-temperature stimuli-responsive N-heteroacene-based liquid material bearing a chiral alkyl chain was developed, which underwent a disordered-ordered state change in response to HCl vapor to form self-assembled solid structures and trigger circularly polarized luminescence. The synergy between experimental in situ observations and molecular dynamics simulations opens up a new avenue for developing stimuli-responsive materials and discovering novel phenomena in such materials.

Yang Tong et al.

Summary: The reversible stimuli-responsive luminescence in the two newly reported bimetallic cuprous complexes 1 and 2 is triggered by the destruction and restoration of orderly molecular stacking, along with the loss and recovery of CH2Cl2 solvent molecules. This innovative reversible luminescence mechanism through breaking and rebuilding hydrogen bonds holds potential applications.

Tuning the luminescence efficiency by perfluorination of side chains in Eu3+ complexes with β-diketones of the thiophene series

Evgeniya A. Varaksina et al.

Summary: A series of fluorinated complexes with rigid structures were synthesized and studied for their luminescence properties. The impact of fluorination and carbon chain length, as well as other substituents, on the spectroscopic and photophysical properties of the complexes were analyzed. Despite the presence of low-lying charge transfer states, the fluorinated Eu3+ complexes exhibited bright luminescence with high quantum yield under UV radiation, supported by both experimental and theoretical calculations.
