Permeability, solubility, and diffusivity of aniline in poly(ether-b-amide) membranes pertaining to aniline removal from aqueous solutions by pervaporation and sorption

Xiaotong Cao et al.

Summary: This study focused on the fundamental aspects of aniline solubility, diffusivity, and permeability in PEBA 2533, with an emphasis on aniline removal from water through pervaporation and sorption methods. The membrane showed high permselectivity for aniline separation, with caution needed in determining membrane permeability based on different measurement techniques and proper conversions for the data. The investigation also looked into sorption-desorption reversibility, which was relevant to aniline removal from water by cyclic sorption/desorption and steady state pervaporative separation.

Vibrational Modes and Terahertz Phenomena of the Large-CageZeolitic Imidazolate Framework-71

Annika F. Moslein et al.

Summary: In this study, the complex physical phenomena and structural dynamics of ZIF-71 were investigated through experimental and computational techniques. The vibrational modes of ZIF-71 were assigned and low-energy terahertz dynamics were discovered. Nanoscale analytical methods were used to explore the local chemical and mechanical properties of ZIF-71 single crystals.

Removal of phenolic contaminants from water by pervaporation

Xiaotong Cao et al.

Summary: This study focused on the separation of phenolic compounds using a PEBA membrane, showing that permeation flux increased with higher feed concentrations, but the increase was less than proportional, leading to a decrease in enrichment factor. Additionally, both permeation flux and enrichment factor increased with higher temperatures. Different phenolic compounds exhibited varying permeabilities in the membrane.
