Three-Dimensional Droplet Manipulation with Electrostatic Levitation

Chang Liu et al.

Summary: An active and precise method for three-dimensional droplet manipulation is introduced in this study. By modulating the local electrostatic force and using a flexible plate electrode, the vertical motion of droplets can be controlled, and various manipulations such as levitation, transport, merging, and mixing can be effectively performed.

Droplet Migration and Coalescence in a Microchannel Induced by the Photothermal Effect of a Focused Infrared Laser

Yijing Yang et al.

Summary: This study visually examined the localized photothermal effect of a focused infrared laser on droplets in a microchannel. Results showed that laser irradiation caused droplets to move and coalesce, with initial movement velocity depending on laser power and droplet length. Higher laser power and shorter droplet length resulted in faster movement and coalescence of the droplets.
