Surface and interface engineering in CO2-philic based UiO-66-NH2-PEI mixed matrix membranes via covalently bridging PVP for effective hydrogen purification

S. Ashtiani et al.

Summary: The defect-free mixed-matrix membrane based on PEI matrix with uniformly dispersed UiO-66-NH2 filler shows enhanced CO2/H-2 separation performance with improved polymer-filler interface interactions. The CO2 permeability reached 394 Barrer and the separation factor of 12, surpassing the 2008 Robeson reverse upper bound limit, due to the combination of diffusion-solution mechanism and preferential adsorption of CO2 via reversible reactions with amino groups in the membrane structure.

Novel Au-tetrahedral aptamer nanostructure for the electrochemiluminescence detection of acetamiprid

Yemin Guo et al.

Summary: An ultrasensitive and selective electrochemiluminescence (ECL) aptasensor with Au-tetrahedral aptamer nanostructure (Au-TAN) was developed for acetamiprid detection. By optimizing the pH of the buffer solution, the concentration of H2O2, and the concentration of Au-TAN, a detection limit lower than other sensors was achieved. The weak alkaline environment explored in the experiment further expanded the application range of the sensor, showing high accuracy and sensitivity.

A highly permeable UiO-66-NH2/polyethyleneimine thin-film nanocomposite membrane for recovery of valuable metal ions from brackish water

Fatemeh Aghili et al.

Summary: A positively charged thin film nanocomposite (TFN) membrane with nano-gel UiO-66-NH2 was synthesized for fractionation of monovalent and multivalent ions from saline water. The TFN/PEI membranes showed high rejection for MgCl2 and MgSO4, but low rejection for LiCl and NaCl, with permeability exceeding 38 L/m2.h.bar.

Amplified electrochemical antibiotic aptasensing based on electrochemically deposited AuNPs coordinated with PEI-functionalized Fe-based metal-organic framework

Youxiong Zhang et al.

Summary: This study presents a facile and versatile competitive electrochemical aptasensor for detecting tobramycin (TOB) based on a metal-organic framework (MOF) sensing interface. By using electrochemical-deposited AuNPs coordinated with PEI-functionalized Fe-based MOF as a signal-amplification platform and DNA probes labeled with methylene blue, the aptasensor demonstrated high sensitivity and selectivity, showing potential for detecting other antibiotics through aptamer replacement.

2D titanium carbide nanosheets based fluorescent aptasensor for sensitive detection of thrombin

Hongyuan Cui et al.

Summary: The fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) aptasensor constructed with two-dimensional titanium carbides (MXenes) shows high sensitivity and specificity for quantitative detection of thrombin, with a detection limit of 5.27 pM. Among three different aptamers, HD22 exhibits the most sensitivity in detecting thrombin in human plasma, and the Ti3C2 MXene-based sensor can accurately detect thrombin in human serum. These results indicate a great potential of Ti3C2 MXene-based FRET aptasensor in clinical diagnosis.
