Summary: This study investigated the influence of large surface area and crystallinity of p-type NiO nanostructures on propanol sensing characteristics. Different preparation methods were compared, and the NiO-based sensor derived from urea precursor exhibited significantly improved sensing response, higher sensitivity, ultra-low theoretical detection limit, and excellent selectivity towards propanol vapour. The high sensitivity and selectivity of NiO-based sensors for propanol detection show promising potential.

Summary: This paper presents an innovative readout circuit for SiC-MOS capacitor sensors using a phase locked loop (PLL) architecture. The circuit accurately converts the sensor's small-signal capacitance affected by hydrogen into a proportional output voltage. Validation through simulations and experiments demonstrates the correct operation of the proposed readout circuit, which successfully measures hydrogen concentrations up to 1600 ppm with voltage variations similar to experimental C-V curves.

Summary: A high-performance ZnO/SnO2 humidity sensor was developed using a solvothermal method, and its sensing mechanism was evaluated by analyzing impedance spectra. The experimental results showed that the ZnO/SnO2 composite material had a larger specific surface area, allowing it to adsorb more water and improve the sensor's response. The presence of ZnO also contributed to the absorption and decomposition of water molecules, increasing the sensor's response and recovery speed.

Summary: This study proposes a unique heterostructure of NiO nanoprisms/Fe2O3 nanosheets for n-butanol sensors, which exhibits superior performances. The addition of Fe2O3 changes the conductivity of the NiO sensor, leading to an improved sensor response. The sensor shows good linear response within the concentration range of 0.1-20 ppm n-butanol and achieves a 3-time enhancement in response compared to pure NiO for 4.2-10 ppm n-butanol at 200 degrees C. The NiO/Fe2O3 sensor also demonstrates a lower detection limit compared to NiO.
