Electrical resistance and capacitance responses of smart ultra-high performance concrete with compressive strain by DC and AC measurements

Yu-yu Hou et al.

Summary: In this study, the electrical properties and strain self-sensing ability of smart ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) with different steel fiber concentrations were characterized. The results showed that AC resistance measurement is preferable for strain self-sensing in UHPC. The addition of steel fibers effectively improved the sensitivity of AC resistance and capacitance variation with strain.
