Development and Evaluation of a Wearable Lower Limb Rehabilitation Robot

Wanting Li et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a wearable exoskeleton robot with a rigid-flexible coupling mechanism for lower limb rehabilitation. It utilizes gait training to help with lower limb movement disorders. Through dynamic simulation and finite element analysis, the mechanism is optimized for lightweight and cost efficiency. The evaluation experiment shows that the robot has advantages in terms of comfort, lightweight, and low cost compared to existing exoskeleton robots, making it suitable for rehabilitation training or as an ancillary walking device for patients.

Impedance Modulation Control of a Lower-Limb Exoskeleton to Assist Sit-to-Stand Movements

Weiguang Huo et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel impedance modulation strategy for a lower-limb exoskeleton to provide appropriate power and balance assistance during STS movements, while enhancing the wearer's balance control ability. By designing a human joint torque observer and a time-varying desired impedance model, along with a virtual environmental force for balance reinforcement control, the effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated through experiments with healthy subjects.

Effects of control strategies on gait in robot-assisted post-stroke lower limb rehabilitation: a systematic review

Silvia Campagnini et al.

Summary: The study found that there is no clear preference for different control algorithms in improving gait parameters of stroke patients. Force control strategies are more commonly used in rigid devices in therapeutic scenarios, while position-controlled soft devices are more commonly used in assistive scenarios. Due to significant heterogeneity in performance metrics and study designs, the impact of different controllers on gait could not be evaluated.
