Exosomes derived from osteogenic tumor activate osteoclast differentiation and concurrently inhibit osteogenesis by transferring COL1A1-targeting miRNA-92a-1-5p

Lijuan Yu et al.

Summary: This study revealed the critical role of PCa exosomes in regulating bone homeostasis and promoting tumor growth in bone. Specifically, miRNAs delivered by PCa exosomes, such as miR-92a-1-5p, were found to play key roles in downregulating type I collagen expression, promoting osteoclast differentiation, and inhibiting osteoblastogenesis. These findings provide new insights into tumor bone metastasis and suggest potential therapeutic targets for PCa bone metastasis.

Hallmarks of environmental insults

Annette Peters et al.

Summary: Environmental insults such as contaminated air, water, and food expose human beings to a plethora of chemicals and stressors, impacting health at all stages of life. The proposed eight hallmarks of environmental insults encompass oxidative stress, genomic alterations, epigenetic changes, and disruptions to various bodily functions, offering insight into the severe health effects induced by complex mixtures of environmental exposures.

Hsa_circ_0005915 promotes N,N-dimethylformamide-induced oxidative stress in HL-7702 cells through NRF2/ARE axis

Ziqi Liu et al.

Summary: N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) is an industrial solvent that may cause liver damage due to oxidative stress. High-throughput sequencing revealed that circRNA hsa_circ_0005915 plays a crucial role in promoting DMF-induced oxidative stress by inhibiting NRF2/ARE axis transcriptional activity.
