This study investigated the influence of alloy-support synergy on the catalytic performance of Ni5Ga3 supported on different materials, revealing that Ni5Ga3/ZrO2 exhibited the best catalytic activity and proposed a reaction mechanism for this catalyst.

Effective separation and recovery of Zn, Cu, and Cr from electroplating sludge based on differential phase transformation induced by chlorinating roasting

Summary: A chlorinating roasting method was developed to treat electroplating sludge containing multiple heavy metals. By adding CaCl2, Zn and Cu were volatilized while Cr was oxidized and retained in the solid phase. The recovery percentage of Zn, Cu, and Cr was high, and further extraction and purification resulted in high purity of Cr and Zn.

Monometallic iron catalysts with synergistic Na and S for higher alcohols synthesis via CO2 hydrogenation

Anaerobic fermentation residue with ash has potential to be used as fertilizer, offering economic and environmental benefits for practical applications.

Oxidation reaction behavior of Cr-hosting spinels during heating of solid wastes containing Cr

Summary: This study examined the reaction behaviors of Cr-hosting spinels at high temperature and provided new insights for treating solid wastes containing Cr, including possible oxidation mechanisms and oxidation-reduction processes. The study showed that CaO can trigger the oxidation of Cr(III) in Cr-hosting spinels and identified the key steps for the oxidation process. Additionally, the study demonstrated that CaO can also trigger the reduction of CaCrO4 into a new Cr(V) compound, and highlighted the temperature-dependent reactions of CuO with CaCrO4 to form CuCrO2.
