The study investigated the effects of adding probiotics to cosmetic formulations, demonstrating improvements in skin condition, increased skin hydration levels, and reduced discoloration.
The base oil/water emulsion was prepd. by mixing the phases at 70 degrees C for 15 min at 500 rpm. After cooling down to 40 degrees C, the active ingredient (Lactobacillus Extract Filtrate, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate Filtrate or Bacillus Ferment Filtrate Extract) was added and stirred until the emulsion was cooled to 25 degrees C, then the acidity regulator was added and homogenized at 7000 rpm for 3 min. The phys. and chem. properties of the preparations (pH, viscosity, droplet size of the dispersed phase and stability), microbiol. purity and the functional properties with the participation of probants were studied. The addn. of probiotics to cosmetic prepns. improved the condition of the skin. A significant increase in the level of skin hydration and redn. of discoloration were obsd.
