Efficient removal of organic contaminants in real shale gas flowback water using Fenton oxidation assisted by UV irradiation: Feasibility study and process optimization

Wenshi Liu et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to identify an effective method for removing organic pollutants from real shale gas flowback water. The UV-Fenton process demonstrated better performance in treating shale gas flowback water, achieving a TOC removal efficiency as high as 70.02% under optimal experimental conditions. The acceleration of the Fe3+ to Fe2+ cycle in the UV-Fenton process led to higher TOC removal efficiency and mineralization of most organic pollutants.

Process development for textile wastewater treatment towards zero liquid discharge: Integrating membrane separation process and advanced oxidation techniques

Victor Rezende Moreira et al.

Summary: The study proposed a treatment process for textile wastewater based on microfiltration and nanofiltration, which efficiently removed pollutants through a series of chemical treatment processes, achieving reuse and reducing environmental impacts. The treated wastewater had high removal rates of COD and color, and had a competitive advantage in terms of economic cost.

Electrochemical oxidation of Naphthol Blue Black with different supporting electrolytes using a BDD/carbon felt cell

Hanane Afanga et al.

Summary: The electrochemical oxidation of Naphthol Blue Black (NBB) solution was studied using anodic oxidation with electrogenerated H2O2 (AO-H2O2) and Electro-Fenton (EF). The use of NaCl as supporting electrolytes resulted in better degradation compared to Na2SO4, and the optimal mineralization conditions were determined to be 0.1 mM NBB, 50 mM Na2SO4 at pH 3.0, 0.1 mM Fe2+, and a current of 300 mA, achieving total color removal in less than 10 minutes and 98% TOC removal in 120 minutes.
