Effect of the symmetry of polyether glycols on structure-morphology-property behavior of polyurethane elastomers

Fei Peng et al.

Summary: The macroscopic properties of polymers can be greatly influenced by subtle structural changes in the building blocks, making it crucial to investigate the structure-property relationships in order to optimize the thermal, mechanical, and optoelectrical characteristics. This study focuses on polyurethane elastomers (PUEs), which contain both soft and hard segments, and explores the effects of structural symmetry in the soft segments on the structure, morphology, and mechanical properties of the PUEs. The results demonstrate the importance of structural regularity in achieving enhanced performance in PUE materials.
