Design andin vitroevaluation of pH-sensitive crosslinked chitosan-grafted acrylic acid copolymer (CS-co-AA) for targeted drug delivery

Summary: In this study, a novel chitosan-based hydrogel was synthesized through crosslinking graft copolymerization, and its structure, morphology, and thermal properties were analyzed using FTIR spectroscopy, SEM, and DSC/TGA. By optimizing the reaction variables, a highly swellable hydrogel was obtained. The chitosan-g-AA hydrogel exhibited pH-responsive swelling and deswelling behavior, making it a promising candidate for controlled drug delivery.
