Design and investigation of a dedicated PCF SPR biosensor for CANCER exposure employing external sensing

Summary: In this study, a PCF-based SPR biosensor was proposed for early detection of cancer cells, showing high sensitivity and resolution for refractive index variations of different cancer cells, especially in the TE mode. The sensor achieved peak wavelength sensitivity, maximum amplitude sensitivity, highest sensor resolution, and a high figure of merit for both TM and TE modes, with the highest values observed for breast cancer cells (MCF 7).
