Study on spray deposited Ni-doped CuO nanostructured thin films: microstructural and optical behavior

A. Abdel-Galil et al.

Summary: In this study, CuO and Ni-doped CuO thin films were successfully deposited on glass substrates using the spray pyrolysis technique. The surface morphology and structure of the films were characterized, revealing a nanocrystalline structure and changes in grain size with Ni doping and electron beam-irradiation. The optical properties, including transmission, absorbance, and reflectance, were measured, showing variations in the optical band gap and absorbance with Ni doping and electron beam-irradiation. Additionally, the J-V characteristics of the device were studied, providing information on the ideality factor and potential barrier height under dark and illuminated conditions.

Fabrication and characterization of CuO nanoplates based sensor device for ethanol gas sensing application

Ahmad Umar et al.

Summary: The ethanol sensing properties of nanocrystalline copper oxide (CuO) nanoplates were studied and a sensor based on CuO nanoplates showed a high ethanol response at 250 degrees C. The sensor exhibited high selectivity in the presence of various gases such as NO2, CO2, CH4, and H-2. The CuO nanoplates based gas sensor was also tested for transient ethanol response and stability.

Enhanced-Performance Self-Powered Solar-Blind UV-C Photodetector Based on n-ZnO Quantum Dots Functionalized by p-CuO Micro-pyramids

Norah Alwadai et al.

Summary: A novel enhanced solar-blind UV-C photodetector array has been fabricated to address the low responsivity issue in smart solar-blind UV-C band photodetectors in a self-powered mode. The device utilizes solution-processed n-ZnO quantum dots (QDs) functionalized by p-CuO micro-pyramids to achieve superior photo-responsivity and faster photoresponse. The photodetector demonstrates a high photo-responsivity of approximately 956 mA/W at 244 nm and a self-powered photoresponse with a high photo-responsivity of approximately 29 mA/W.
