Composite samples of BaFe12O19/CoFe2O4 and CoFe2O4 ferrites were successfully synthesized via solid-state reaction, and their properties were characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and EDX spectroscopy.
The composite samples were synthesized successfully via solid-state reaction route incorporating BaFe12O19/CoFe2O4 (hard/soft) ferrites along with pure CoFe2O4 ferrite. X-ray diffraction unveiled presence of both soft and hard ferrite phases without any impurity. The refined parameters elucidated structural features to scrutinize their influence on various properties of synthesized materials. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) revealed distribution of both ferrite phases, and average grain size was calculated by employing size distribution histogram. EDX spectra confirmed good compositional homogeneity authenticating presence of both ferrite phases in composites. The dielectric behavior studied over wide temperature and frequency range divulges that the dielectric constant shows an increasing trend with increasing cobalt ferrite content. The samples showed typical dielectric dispersive behavior at lower frequencies. The magnetic behavior was investigated using vibrating samples magnetometer to record M -H loop at room temperature. The results exposed a good single-phase type loop confirming good exchange coupling between two ferrite phases.
