Color tunable SrZrO3:Sm3+ nanopowders with satisfactory photoluminescent, band engineering properties for warm white LEDs and advanced forensic applications

K. C. Sushma et al.

Summary: In this study, color tunable samarium ions incorporated SrZrO3 nanopowders were successfully fabricated using a simple solution combustion technique with Aloe vera gel as fuel. The synthesized nanopowders were characterized by various analytical techniques, and their structural, optical, and photoluminescence properties were investigated. The results showed that the SrZrO3 nanopowders had an orthorhombic phase, a dumb-bell shaped morphology, and a particle size of around 30 nm. The photoluminescence emission of the samarium ions exhibited three prominent peaks at specific wavelengths. Furthermore, the SrZrO3 nanopowders showed excellent potential for detecting latent fingerprints on non-porous surfaces. The findings suggest that these prepared phosphors could be used as orange-red components in white light emitting diode applications and for advanced forensic applications.

G. R. Revannasiddappa et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of Dy3+ doped Ca2MgSi2O7 nanopowders were successfully synthesized using a green combustion technique with Aloe vera gel as fuel. The fabricated samples exhibited good phase transparency and a single-phase tetragonal structure. Characterization techniques such as diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and photoluminescence analysis provided insights into the energy band gap values, morphological features, and emission peaks, respectively. The results indicated that the synthesized nanopowders have potential applications in cool white light emitting diodes (wLEDs) and forensic studies.
