Exploring the resilience assessment framework of urban road network for sustainable cities

Zhizhen Liu et al.

Summary: This study proposed a resilience assessment framework for urban road networks, showing that intersection-based attacks have a significant impact on resilience, and resilience is positively correlated with the node degree of the attacked intersection. Increasing alpha and beta can enhance resilience, and the urban road network achieves the best resilience performance when alpha = 0.3, beta = 0.5.

A cross-city exploratory analysis of the robustness of bus transit networks using open-source data

Tao Jia et al.

Summary: A strong bus transit network is crucial for sustainable development by addressing urban issues. This paper examines the robustness of 57 bus transit networks in terms of transferability. Results show a universal heavy-tailed distribution of network betweenness, with target attacks being more detrimental to network robustness than random attacks. Different cities exhibit varying degrees of robustness, with larger cities being more vulnerable than smaller ones. NE is more likely to be affected by target attacks than GC, and the impact of target attacks weakens compared to random attacks after removing a certain percentage of nodes. Additionally, clusters of cities are identified based on similarities in network robustness for the benefit of transit planners and policymakers.

Understanding the configuration of bus networks in urban China from the perspective of network types and administrative division effect

Sheng Wei et al.

Summary: This study emphasizes the value of bus lines and their network types in analyzing urban bus network patterns. By constructing a "line-line" network, the spatial characteristics of cross-administration bus lines in Nanjing metropolitan area were examined. The results showed consistent bimodal node distribution in different network types, with administrative divisions negatively impacting bus network integration and some subnetworks exhibiting complex spatial characteristics.
