A qualitative study of adolescent cancer survivors perspectives on social support from healthy peers - A RESPECT study

Findings revealed that ambassadors restored a sense of normalcy in adolescents' daily lives, supported identity construction, acted as liaison persons to buffer loneliness and social isolation, and maintained a sense of belonging to their school peer network.

Research indicates the need for further support to develop and implement comprehensive pediatric oncology rehabilitation programs for children with cancer.
