An N-heterocyclic carbene-catalyzed three-component reaction has been developed for the synthesis of multisubstituted benzenes. The reaction demonstrates mild conditions, high efficiency, and chemoselectivity, leading to the formation of pentasubstituted benzenes in good to high yields.
An N-heterocyclic carbene-catalyzed three -compo-nent reaction of ketone, acetylenedicarboxylate, and enal for the synthesis of multisubstituted benzenes has been developed. The key features of this reaction are mild reaction conditions and high efficiency and chemoselectivity. The corresponding pentasubsti-tuted benzenes are obtained in good to high yields. 0 O center dot high efficiency and chemoselectivity center dot access to pentasubstituted benzenes
