Towards a universal model for orogenic gold systems: A perspective based on Chinese examples with geodynamic, temporal, and deposit-scale structural and geochemical diversity

Qingfei Wang et al.

Summary: Models for orogenic gold systems have remained controversial. The characteristics of Chinese giant gold provinces strongly suggest a sub-crustal fluid and metal source. Lithosphere-scale shear zones and faults play a crucial role as conduits for ore fluids and metals.

The role of phyllosilicate partial melting in segregating tungsten and tin deposits in W-Sn metallogenic provinces

Panlao Zhao et al.

Summary: Most tungsten and tin mineralization are separated in space and time. Tin-related granites are generally formed through high-temperature partial melting, while tungsten-related granites are formed through low-temperature partial melting. The segregation may be influenced by the protolith, melting temperature, and magma evolution.

Multiple metal sources of coupled Cu-Sn deposits: Insights from the Tongshanling polymetallic deposit in the Nanling Range, South China

Jinghua Wu et al.

Summary: The formation of hydrothermal Cu and Sn deposits is believed to be related to magmas of differing oxygen fugacities, posing a challenge to our understanding of their genesis. With a comprehensive study of the Tongshanling polymetallic deposit, it has been revealed that the Cu-Sn metallogeny of this deposit was spatially-coupled rather than temporally-coupled. This suggests that Cu-Sn deposits are a product of spatial coupling, i.e., sequential mineralization events within a single ore field.

Progressively released gases from fluid inclusions reveal new insights on W-Sn mineralization of the Yaogangxian tungsten deposit, South China

Ming Xiao et al.

Summary: The study utilized QMS-based stepwise crushing technique on ore and gangue minerals from the Yaogangxian tungsten deposit in South China, revealing the presence of both magmatic and non-magmatic crustal components in the mineralizing fluids, suggesting that fluid-rock interactions between exsolved magmatic-hydrothermal fluids and metasedimentary wall rocks played a crucial role in promoting W-Sn precipitation in the ore deposit.

LA-ICP-MS trace element analysis of pyrite from the Dafang gold deposit, South China: Implications for ore genesis

Kexin Wang et al.

Summary: The Dafang gold deposit in the Nanling Range of China is a hydrothermal gold deposit with three mineralization stages dominated by pyrite as the main gold-bearing mineral. Research results show that the gold in pyrite exists as Au1+, and the coincidence of gold-rich zones with arsenic-rich zones indicates that arsenic promotes the enrichment of lattice gold.

The prograde-to-retrograde evolution of the Huangshaping skarn deposit (Nanling Range, South China)

Da-Peng Zhu et al.

Summary: The Huangshaping deposit in the Nanling Range is a world-class skarn deposit hosting abundant W-Sn polymetallic mineralization. This study analyzed garnet, scheelite, and cassiterite in a high-temperature granite porphyry-related W-Sn polymetallic system at Huangshaping to investigate the transition from the prograde stage to the retrograde stage. Different generations of mineral phases were identified with distinct mineral associations and geochemical features, indicating variations in the enrichment and precipitation of metallic elements during different stages of mineralization.

Targeting the ILK/YAP axis by LFG-500 blocks epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis

Cheng-lin Li et al.

Summary: The study showed that LFG-500 can inhibit EMT-associated migration and invasion in breast cancer and lung adenocarcinoma cell lines by downregulating YAP activity. Further research indicated that the suppression of YAP activation induced by LGF-500 is mediated by ILK.
