Late Cretaceous granitic magmatism and Sn mineralization in the giant Yinyan porphyry tin deposit, South China: constraints from zircon and cassiterite U-Pb and molybdenite Re-Os geochronology

Peng-Cheng Hu et al.

Summary: The research on the tin deposit revealed the important role of cassiterite in the genetic relationship between the deposit and the Quartz porphyry and granite porphyry magmatism. Cassiterite has high Fe, Nb, and Ta contents, leading to its dark luminescence in CL images. Additionally, the Zr/Hf ratio of cassiterite can be used to differentiate different types of mineralization.

Constraints on the Formation of the Giant Daheishan Porphyry Mo Deposit (NE China) from Whole-Rock and Accessory Mineral Geochemistry

Kai Xing et al.

Summary: The study on the Daheishan Mo deposit in northeastern China suggests that the formation of the deposit is related to the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific oceanic plate and subsequent slab rollback in a continental arc setting. Factors controlling Mo mineralization include magma oxidation states, water contents, sulfur and metal concentrations. Isotopic data of apatite and titanite suggest a potential mixing model between mantle-derived basaltic melts and the Precambrian lower crust during the formation of the deposit.

Geology, mineralogy, ore paragenesis, and molybdenite Re-Os geochronology of Sn-W (-Mo) mineralization in Padatgyaung and Dawei, Myanmar: Implications for timing of mineralization and tectonic setting

Aung Zaw Myint et al.

Summary: This study utilized molybdenite Re-Os dating to determine the timing of ore formation in two Sn-W(-Mo) regions in Myanmar. The findings suggest that vein-type W-Mo mineralization in the Padatgyaung region formed after tin mineralized greisenization, while Sn-W(-Mo) mineralization in the Dawei region occurred around 70-60 Ma. The study reveals significant granite-related Sn-W(-Mo) mineralization with an age of 75-60 Ma in the Western Granite Province.

Multiple orogenic gold mineralization events in a collisional orogen: Insights from an extruded terrane along the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau

Lin Yang et al.

Summary: The Daping and Chang'an orogenic gold deposits on the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau provide insight into the relationships between geodynamic evolution of a collisional orogen and orogenic gold mineralization. The differing mineralization ages and sulfur isotope compositions suggest that these deposits formed at different stages of the orogen's evolution.
