Serial and parallel convolutional neural network schemes for NFDM signals

Wen Qi Zhang et al.

Summary: This article proposes two conceptual convolutional neural network (CNN) schemes for decoding nonlinear frequency division multiplexing (NFDM) signals directly, taking hardware implementation into consideration. A serial network scheme for small user applications and a parallel network scheme for places like data centers are designed. The numerical demonstrations show that both network schemes achieve more than 99.9% accuracy, with the serial network occupying 0.5 MB of memory space and the parallel network allowing parallel computing with 128 MB of memory.

Adaptive dynamic range shift (ADRIFT) quantitative phase imaging

Keiichiro Toda et al.

Summary: The text discusses a supersensitive QPI technique that expands the dynamic range through a combination of wavefront shaping and dark-field QPI techniques. Experimental results show that this technique can improve the sensitivity of QPI and is useful for mid-infrared photothermal QPI.

Neural network for calculating direct and inverse nonlinear Fourier transform

E. Sedov et al.

Summary: A neural network architecture is proposed for predicting a continuous nonlinear spectrum of optical signals and performing inverse NFT for signal modulation. The average relative error in predicting the spectrum during direct NFT calculation is 2.68 x 10(-3), while the average relative error in predicting the signal for inverse NFT is 1.62 x 10(-4).

Neural networks for computing and denoising the continuous nonlinear Fourier spectrum in focusing nonlinear Schrodinger equation

Egor V. Sedov et al.

Summary: The research combines nonlinear Fourier transform with machine learning methods to solve the direct spectral problem associated with the nonlinear Schrodinger equation, focusing on computing the continuous nonlinear Fourier spectrum for decaying profiles. Using the NFT-Net neural network proves beneficial for effective noise suppression, especially in dealing with high levels of noise.

Large-scale neuromorphic optoelectronic computing with a reconfigurable diffractive processing unit

Tiankuang Zhou et al.

Summary: Researchers propose a reconfigurable diffractive processing unit based on the diffraction of light, which supports different neural networks and achieves high model complexity with millions of neurons. By developing an adaptive training approach to overcome system errors, they achieve excellent experimental accuracies for high-speed image and video recognition.
