Structural and luminescence characteristics of thermally stable Dy3+doped oxyfluoride strontium zinc borosilicate glasses for photonic device applications

Anu et al.

Summary: The structural, thermal, and photoluminescence properties of Dy3+ doped OFSZBS glasses were investigated. The results showed that the optical properties of the glass can be modified by doping Dy3+ ions, and the highest photoluminescence intensity was observed at a concentration of 1 mol% Dy3+ ions. Additionally, the synthesized glasses exhibited high thermal stability and are suitable for photonic devices.

Luminescence and Judd-Ofelt analysis of gallium aluminum gadolinium yttrium borate scintillating glass doped with Dy3+

P. Borisut et al.

Summary: Dy3+ doped glasses were prepared and their physical, chemical groups, optical, photoluminescence, and radioluminescence properties were investigated. Increasing Dy2O3 concentration led to higher density and refractive index in the glasses. Dy3+ doped glasses absorbed photons in the UV, VIS, and NIR regions. The luminescence lifetime of Dy3+ shortened with increasing Dy2O3 content.

Physical and structural properties of dysprosium ion doped phosphate glasses

Fahimeh Ahmadi et al.

Summary: The prepared magnesium-zinc-sulfophosphate glasses were characterized with XRD patterns and various optical properties were calculated for each sample. The density of the glasses increased with Dy3+ concentration, while the molar volume initially decreased and then increased with 1.5 mol% Dy2O3. The optical energy band gap linearly increased with Dy2O3 concentration up to 1.5 mol%, possibly due to the formation of NBOs, and other optical properties showed similar trends with Dy3+ content.

Summary: The study on erbium-doped glasses showed that increasing the erbium oxide content led to an increase in density and molar volume, with erbium ions present in an Er3+ environment. Changes were observed in the optical energy band gap, refractive index, and nonlinear susceptibility. The glasses also exhibited high gamma-ray shielding capacity.
