Four-mode 2D/3D switchable display with a 1D/2D convertible liquid crystal lens array

Fan Chu et al.

Summary: A four-mode 2D/3D switchable display using a 1D/2D convertible liquid crystal (LC) lens array is proposed, which can switch between different 3D display effects based on the LC lens array. The LC lens array has low operating voltage, simple fabrication process, and can eliminate moire patterns in the 2D/3D switchable display.

Superior improvement in dynamic response of liquid crystal lens using organic and inorganic nanocomposite

Che Ju Hsu et al.

Summary: By doping BNA and TiO2 NP nanocomposite, the response time of the HLC lens was significantly improved to achieve focus and defocus in milliseconds. The synergistic effect of BNA and TiO2 NP led to a remarkable decrease in viscosity of the LC mixture, while also providing a larger tunable focus capability within a smaller voltage interval.
