Modifying the optical properties of 0.7PVA/0.3PEG blend through doping with CdS/TM (TM: Fe, Mg, Mn)

Zein K. Heiba et al.

Summary: Doped polyvinyl alcohol/polyethylene glycol blended polymers with nanofillers were prepared using thermolysis and casting process. The structure and microstructure of the phases formed in different nanofillers were investigated. The optical properties of the blends were found to vary with the type of nanofillers and wavelength range.

Synthesis and characterization of as-grown doped polymerized (PMMA-PVA)/ZnO NPs hybrid thin films

A. M. Alsaad et al.

Summary: This study discusses the optical, lattice dynamical, and thermal characterization of PMMA and PVA doped with zinc oxide nanoparticles deposited on glass substrate. Optical properties, optical dielectric functions, and refractive indices were determined, with a decrease in optical band gap observed with the introduction of ZnO NPs. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis were also conducted to assess the vibrational bands and thermal stability of the thin films.

Impact of gamma irradiation on the structural, linear and nonlinear optical properties of lead oxide incorporated PVA/graphene blend for shielding applications

Ali Badawi et al.

Summary: The study showed that the structural and optical properties of PVA/graphene polymeric composites incorporated with lead oxide were modified by exposure to gamma irradiation. The linear and nonlinear optical parameters of the composites were enhanced by controlling the gamma-irradiation dose, especially in the UV region. These findings suggest potential applications of the composites in dosimetry and shielding devices.

Microstructure Study and Linear/Nonlinear Optical Performance of Bi-Embedded PVP/PVA Films for Optoelectronic and Optical Cut-Off Applications

H. Elhosiny Ali et al.

Summary: In this study, the effects of adding bismuth metal to polyvinyl pyrrolidone/polyvinyl alcohol hybrid polymer films on their optical properties were investigated. The results showed that the intensities of diffraction peaks and transmission spectrum of the films decreased gradually with the introduction of bismuth metal. The microstructure surface of the films also changed due to the filler. The bandgap of the hybrid films decreased, making them suitable for applications such as photoelectric and solar cells. Additionally, the refractive index, nonlinear susceptibility, and optical limiting characteristics of the films were improved with increasing bismuth metal concentrations. Therefore, hybrid films have promising potential in various optoelectronic applications.

Influence of transition metals doping (M) on the structural, optical, and electronic properties of non-stoichiometric nano-CdS1-x:Mx

Zein K. Heiba et al.

Summary: The non-stoichiometric cadmium sulfide nanomaterials doped with various transition metals showed modified structural parameters and optical properties, with the doped samples emitting violet, blue, and green colors. The presence of doped metals at crystallographic sites and the diffusion of oxygen ions were studied using Rietveld analysis and high-resolution transmission electron microscope imaging. DFT calculations suggested that Cu-doped CdS samples exhibited the highest photoconductivity in the infrared range.

Zein K. Heiba et al.

Summary: The role of Cd0.9Mg0.1S nanofillers on the structural, optical, and dielectric properties of polyvinyl alcohol/carboxymethyl cellulose blend was explored in this study. CdS/Mg nanoparticles were prepared using thermolysis and casting techniques. The modified properties of CdS/Mg filled PVA/CMC blend films make them promising for optoelectronic applications.

Effect of Ag doping on the optical and structural properties of CdS/ polyvinyl alcohol thin films by thermolysis process

Jyotimoni Bora et al.

Summary: Cadmium sulfide (CdS) and silver (Ag) doped CdS thin films embedded in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) were prepared and studied for their optical and structural properties. Increasing silver doping concentration led to a preference for the hexagonal phase, along with increased lattice strain and crystallite size. Agglomerated nanoparticles were observed on the film surface with higher Ag doping concentrations.
