ZnO and Bi-metallic (Ag-Au) Layers Based Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Biosensor with BaTiO3 and Graphene for Biosensing Applications

N. Mudgal et al.

Summary: This work proposes a novel design of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) and bi-metallic (Ag-Au) layers based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor with barium titanate (BaTiO3) and graphene. The addition of bimetallic (Ag-Au) layers along with BaTiO3 improves the sensitivity of the proposed structure by 14.85% compared to the last reported MoS2-graphene-based SPR sensor within the same refractive index range.

Silicon Nitride-BP-Based Surface Plasmon Resonance Highly Sensitive Biosensor for Virus SARS-CoV-2 Detection

Awadhesh Kumar et al.

Summary: In this study, a surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based biosensor using silicon nitride (Si3N4), black phosphorous (BP), and thiol-tethered DNA as a ligand is proposed for fast detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Different combinations of silver (Ag), Si3N4, and BP on the base of the BK-7 prism are investigated, and three configurations are compared for the detection of SARS-CoV-2. The combination of Ag, Si3N4, and BP shows better sensitivity compared to other configurations. The study provides a new sensing device based on hybrid materials for the detection of SARS-CoV-2.

Raman spectroscopic investigations of the selenization of MoO3 in the chemical vapor deposition process to form two-dimensional MoSe2

Vineeta Singh et al.

Summary: The transformation process of precursor MoO3 into two-dimensional MoSe2 using Chemical Vapor Deposition method was monitored through micro-Raman spectroscopy. Different morphologies observed during deposition represent different compounds, with each morphology corresponding to specific oxide or oxyselenide phases. The stepwise selenization mechanism of MoSe2 formation was revealed through the Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy analysis.

Room temperature ammonia sensing of α-MoO3 nanorods grown on glass substrates

Tijin Thomas et al.

Summary: Ammonia gas sensors utilizing aligned one-dimensional orthorhombic molybdenum trioxide (α-MoO3) nanorods demonstrated high sensitivity and stability at room temperature, with the sensors annealed at 400 degrees Celsius showing response to lower concentrations of ammonia. The morphological and structural changes of α-MoO3 nanorods after annealing contributed to the improved sensing response.
