This study proposes a single-qubit-based color model for efficient image processing and encryption, enhancing security and efficiency.
Image processing requires efficiency and security. This study proposes a single-qubit-based hue, saturation, and lightness (SQHSL) color model, which encodes perceptually relevant triplet color components (hue, saturation, and lightness, or HSL) into the two-phase parameters of a qubit. Owing to the obvious single-qubit structure and property, the SQHSL model is capable of performing global and local color transformations on quantum images with less computing resources than other models. Additionally, an efficient SQHSL image encryption strategy (SQES) and a secret information sharing protocol (SISP) are proposed by combining qubit random rotation with the reusable quantum logistic key. Experimental results and analyses show that the proposed security schemes exhibit high efficiency and ability against brute-force attacks and statistical attacks.
