The China Institute of Atomic Energy has successfully developed a homemade 300 kV AMS system for heavy isotopes measurement, achieving good transmission efficiency and uncertainty in the measurement of I-129 and Pu-239.
In order to develop a AMS system for heavy isotopes measurement at China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), a home-made 300 kV AMS system has been established. The measurement methods for I-129 and Pu-239 have been developed with the system. The transmission efficiency of 65 % for I-129 and 25 % for Uranium have been obtained with this system. The I-129 measurements with uncertainty of 2.5 % and sensitivity of I-129/I-127 = 2 x 10(-14) are achieved. The uncertainty of 5 % and detection limitation of 0.5 fg are obtained for Pu-239 measurements.
