An overview of tritium retention in dust particles from the JET-ILW divertor

T. Otsuka et al.

Summary: The retention characteristics of tritium in dust collected from the divertor in JET with ITER-like wall have been examined. The study found that carbon and tungsten are the dominant components affecting the tritium retention, with carbon-based particles retaining more tritium than tungsten-based particles.

3D modeling of boron transport in DIII-D L-mode wall conditioning experiments

F. Effenberg et al.

Summary: The injection of local boron powder for real-time wall conditioning in DIII-D L-mode experiments has been interpreted using the 3D plasma edge transport Monte Carlo code EMC3-EIRENE. The study found that the distribution of boron in the plasma is non-axisymmetric, influenced by plasma density and heating conditions. Thermal and frictional forces play a role in the deposition and distribution of boron in the scrape-off layer (SOL) and on the divertor.
