This study describes a new holomorph of a green ascospore Trichoderma tongrenense sp. nov. from Guizhou, China, and phylogenetic analyses suggest it belongs to a new species within the Harzianum lineage of Trichoderma. Illustrations and descriptions are provided.
The holomorph of Trichoderma tongrenense sp. nov. with green ascospores is described from Guizhou, China. Phylogenetic analyses based on sequences of the translation elongation factor 1 alpha (tef1) and RNA polymerase II second largest subunit (rpb2) genes indicated its position within the Harzianum lineage of Trichoderma (Hypocrea), together with its internal transcribed spacer RNA (ITS) sequence and morphology, suggest that it is a new species. Illustrations and descriptions are provided.
