Impact of meningeal uptake and partial volume correction techniques on [18F]MK-6240 binding in aMCI patients and healthy controls

Nathalie Mertens et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of spill-in effects caused by individually variable meningeal uptake on cortical differences in [F-18]MK-6240 PET quantification. The results suggest that appropriate partial volume correction (PVC) with correction for extracerebral spill-in effects is recommended to minimize the influence of varying meningeal uptake on cortical differences between healthy controls (HC) and individuals with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI).

Changes in synaptic density in the subacute phase after ischemic stroke: A 11C-UCB-J PET/MR study

Laura Michiels et al.

Summary: This study used C-11-UCB-J PET imaging to discover a decrease in synaptic density in the ischemic tissue of stroke patients, as well as lower synaptic density in non-lesioned tissue of the affected hemisphere compared to the unaffected hemisphere. Furthermore, the contralesional cerebellar hemisphere also showed lower C-11-UCB-J SUVR compared to the ipsilesional cerebellar hemisphere, with some patients exhibiting crossed cerebellar diaschisis. Longitudinal research is needed to further study these changes in synaptic density and their relationship to outcomes.

A dual-time-window protocol to reduce acquisition time of dynamic tau PET imaging using [18F]MK-6240

Guilherme D. Kolinger et al.

Summary: A DTW protocol was simulated to reduce PET/CT acquisition time, considering perfusion changes and possible protocol deviations. Results showed that DTW protocol closely approximates uninterrupted TAC(120) for quantification, with less susceptibility to perfusion changes and protocol deviations compared to SUVR estimates.
