New research based on genome-wide association studies in Alzheimer's disease has identified molecular mechanisms that are also seen in some psychiatric disorders. The study used omics data and has the potential to reveal unknown disease mechanisms. However, insufficient information about neuropsychiatric symptoms in Alzheimer's disease patients limits the conclusions.
