The integration of a dual-encapsulated strategy and dense-structure engineering offers a simple and feasible approach to enhance the volumetric and areal capacity of alloy-based anodes.

Self-assembly and in-situ characterization of Ti3C2Tx in Al: A step toward additive manufacturing of MXene-metal composites

Summary: Two-dimensional transition metal carbides (MXenes) have attracted research interest due to their high electrical conductivity, mechanical properties, and chemically-active surface groups. This study explores the self-assembly of nanometer-thick MXene flakes on micron-sized aluminum particles and characterizes the resulting composites using XRD2. The effect of sintering on the MXene morphology and mechanical properties is investigated using in-situ XRD2, Vickers hardness, and SEM/EDX methods.
