Insight into the performance of different Pt/KL catalysts for n-alkane (C6-C8) aromatization: catalytic role of zeolite channels

Mengxia Yan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the catalytic role of zeolite channel architecture in n-alkane aromatization by depositing uniformly dispersed Pt clusters on KL zeolite. The results show that Pt clusters inside the zeolite channels can facilitate n-alkane aromatization, and the superiority of the channel architecture decreases as the alkane size increases. DFT calculations further reveal the relationship between the catalytic role of the channels and carbon numbers.

Regulation of Al distributions and Cu2+ locations in SSZ-13 zeolites for NH3-SCR of NO by different alkali metal cations

Wenting Lv et al.

Summary: Different types of alkali metal cations were used to synthesize SSZ-13, and the Al distribution and Cu2+ locations in the framework were investigated using various techniques. It was found that with decreasing cation radii, the number of AlO4- tetrahedra and isolated Cu2+ species in SSZ-13 increased, leading to enhanced NH3-SCR catalytic performance.

Hierarchically structured Pt/K-Beta zeolites for the catalytic conversion of n-heptane to aromatics

Ying Shi et al.

Summary: Hierarchically structured Beta zeolites with high meso-porosity were synthesized through steam treatment using organosilanes as pore-forming reagents, followed by modification with K and Pt. The Pt/K-Beta-HS catalysts exhibited excellent performance in the aromatization of n-heptane, showing longer lifetime, higher selectivity to aromatics, and larger turnover numbers compared to conventional Beta zeolites. These results demonstrate the potential of Pt/K-Beta-HS zeolites as efficient catalysts for converting n-heptane to aromatics.
