An elastic-plastic model for frozen soil from micro to macro scale

Pan Wang et al.

Summary: A multiscale incremental elastoplastic constitutive model for frozen soil is developed to reflect the internal mechanical mechanism through micro-thermo-mechanics and homogenization theory. The model includes two homogenization steps: breakage stage and constituent materials stage.

On the effect of the ratio between the yield stresses in shear and in uniaxial tension on forming of isotropic materials

Marta C. Oliveira et al.

Summary: The choice of yield criterion can significantly impact the predictions of plastic behavior in forming operations. A numerical study for deep drawing processes showed that the yield description influenced the plastic strains and final part profile even for simple processes. Materials with higher ratio of yield stresses in shear and uniaxial tension resulted in greater cup heights than the von Mises material.
