Nonlinear analysis of cylindrical gear dynamics under varying tooth breakage

Lukasz Jedlinski et al.

Summary: This study conducted linear and nonlinear analyses on a commonly used cylindrical gear to detect the extent of tooth damage. Due to vibrations and disturbances in the test equipment, traditional vibration signal analysis methods failed to provide conclusive and satisfactory results. Therefore, nonlinear recurrence analysis was adopted to address the issue of determining the level of gear tooth damage.

An improved partial similitude method for dynamic characteristic of rotor systems based on Levenberg-Marquardt method

Lei Li et al.

Summary: Similitude theory is widely used in predicting the structural responses of full-size prototypes through scaled models. Partial similitude, more flexible in practical design, needs improvement in accuracy. An improved partial similitude approach is presented in this study to establish scaling laws for rotor systems and to overcome the insufficient accuracy of existing methods in predicting dynamic characteristics. The accuracy and effectiveness of this approach are validated through numerical and experimental case studies, showing higher accuracy than existing methods.

Dynamic modeling and fuzzy compensation sliding mode control for flexible manipulator servo system

Dongyang Shang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a model simplification method and an improved control strategy for the complex flexible manipulator servo system. The model simplification method ignores the second-order modal deformation, while the improved control strategy utilizes fuzzy compensation sliding mode control to reduce chattering and angular velocity errors. Simulation experiments and physical control experiments validate the effectiveness of the improved strategy.

Dynamic modeling and fuzzy adaptive control strategy for space flexible robotic arm considering joint flexibility based on improved sliding mode controller

Dongyang Shang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an improved sliding mode control strategy based on fuzzy compensation to enhance the trajectory tracking accuracy of space flexible robotic arms. Numerical simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the strategy in reducing speed fluctuations and significantly decreasing trajectory tracking errors.

Adaptive fuzzy neural network control for a space manipulator in the presence of output constraints and input nonlinearities

Qijia Yao

Summary: This paper proposes an adaptive fuzzy neural network (FNN) control scheme for trajectory tracking control of an attitude-controlled free-flying space manipulator, which can effectively address parametric uncertainties and external disturbances in the presence of output constraints and input nonlinearities, ensuring position tracking errors converge to small neighborhoods about zero. Rigorous theoretical analysis is provided for the system's ultimate boundedness, and numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control scheme.

PID with a Switching Action Controller for Nonlinear Systems of Second-order Controller Canonical Form

MyoungHo Kim et al.

Summary: The PID with a switching action (PIDSA) controller proposed in the study combines the simplicity of PID and the robustness of sliding mode control (SMC) to enhance the control performance of nonlinear systems. The addition of a double integral sliding surface (DISS) further improves the performance compared to using an integral sliding surface, as demonstrated in experiments on a hydraulic manipulator.
