Anisotropic spacetimes in f(T, B) theory I: Bianchi I universe

Andronikos Paliathanasis

Summary: This study is the first part of a series of research on analyzing the higher-order teleparallel theory of gravity known as the f(T, B)-theory. It aims to understand the involvement of anisotropic spacetimes in the f(T, B)-theory. The study reviews previous analyses of f(T, B)-gravity and investigates the global dynamics in the case of a locally rotational Bianchi I background geometry. The study focuses on the case of f(T, B) = T + F(B) theory and determines the criteria where f(T, B)-theory solves the homogeneity problem. Finally, the integrability properties of the field equations are investigated using the Painleve analysis, and the analytic solution is expressed by a right Painleve expansion.

Unified dark sectors in scalar-torsion theories of gravity

Genly Leon et al.

Summary: This study presents a unified description of the matter and dark energy epochs using a class of scalar-torsion theories. Two specific classes of scalar-field potentials are obtained by applying Noether's theorem and requiring linear-in-momentum conservation laws. The analysis reveals critical points that correspond to different stages in the evolution of the universe, including the dust-matter domination period, the accelerated period, and the de Sitter phase.

Cosmological perturbations in modified teleparallel gravity models: boundary term extension

Sebastian Bahamonde et al.

Summary: This study explores cosmological perturbations in a new framework of gravity, including gravitational propagation equations, vector perturbation stability conditions, and scalar perturbations. The effective gravitational constant is derived, revealing an interesting branching behavior dependent on specific gravitational models being probed. A discussion is provided on the relation of these results with other gravitational theories.

f(T) cosmology with nonzero curvature

Andronikos Paliathanasis

Summary: In this study, exact and analytic solutions in f(T) gravity are investigated within the context of a Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker background space with nonzero spatial curvature. For the power-law theory f(T) = T-n, exact solutions with a linear scalar factor are found for both negative and positive spatial curvature. The Milne-like solution near the initial singularity is unstable, while for large values of the independent parameter, the field equations provide an expanding universe with a de Sitter expansion of a positive cosmological constant.

Cosmological evolution in f(T, B) gravity

Andronikos Paliathanasis et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the cosmological evolution of the universe under the fourth-order teleparallel f(T, B) theory of gravity in a spatially flat background. By introducing a scalar field function and using dimensionless variables, we analyze the dynamics of the theory and discuss the stability properties of the asymptotic solutions.

Minisuperspace Quantization of f (T, B) Cosmology

Andronikos Paliathanasis

Summary: In this study, we focus on the quantization in the minisuperspace for the generalized fourth-order teleparallel cosmological theory f(T, B). By considering the theory linear on the torsion scalar, new cosmological field equations were derived, along with the Wheeler-DeWitt equation for the first time. Through the use of similarity transformations, exact solutions for the Wheeler-DeWitt equations were found, and classical and semiclassical limits were explored in the de Broglie-Bohm representation of quantum mechanics.

Reconciling Tsallis holographic dark energy models in modified f (T, B) gravitational framework

M. Zubair et al.

Summary: In this paper, a reconstruction of the f(T, B) gravity model is conducted, showing that all reconstructed models favor the current accelerated expansion regime by representing phantom cosmic epoch or de-Sitter model for different scenarios. The validity of the null energy condition is only observed for one case, while it remains invalid for other cases. Additionally, the stability of the reconstructed models is explored, revealing that both power law and de-Sitter solutions exhibit stable behavior against introduced perturbations.

Summary: The study explores teleparallel gravity from a dynamical systems perspective, introducing a nonconstant degree of freedom to improve existing autonomous system models for a new dynamical analysis. By studying hyperbolic critical points, a possible solution to the H-0 tension in a cosmologically viable f(T,B) mixed power law model is suggested.
