Biodegradable nanocarriers based on chitosan-modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles for delivery of methotrexate for application in breast cancer treatment

Zahra Shakeran et al.

Summary: Nanocarriers, specifically mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs), have shown great potential in delivering hydrophobic drugs like methotrexate (MTX) to tumor spaces. Surface-modified MSNs were loaded with MTX and studied for their drug release, cellular uptake and cytotoxic effects on breast cancer cells, showing promising results at a low dose.

Mesoporous silica particles based on complex micelles of poorly water-soluble compounds. One simple step to multidrug carriers

Klavdiya A. Naumova et al.

Summary: By using miramistin micelles as a template, mesoporous silica nanocontainers (MSNs) with a high drug encapsulation capacity can be synthesized, and the drug release rate varies depending on the temperatures of solubilizing curcumin and synthesizing MSNs, with a higher rate in acidic medium.

Superiority of Chiral-handed mesoporous silica nanoparticles in delivering Nimesulide

Rongzheng Liu et al.

Summary: The study focused on the improved drug delivery effect of chiral-handed mesoporous silica nanoparticles (Ch-MSNs). Ch-D-MSN and Ch-L-MSN were successfully prepared and shown to significantly improve drug dissolution. The loaded carriers exhibited different chiral recognition functions in a chiral environment, with Ch-L-MSN showing improved efficacy in anti-inflammatory pharmacodynamics.
