Facile synthesis by laser ablation in liquid of nonequilibrium cobalt-silver nanoparticles with magnetic and plasmonic properties

Andrea Guadagnini et al.

Summary: Despite the immiscibility of silver and cobalt at any temperature, silver nanoparticles doped with cobalt were successfully synthesized using laser ablation in liquid, retaining the silver's plasmonic response and cobalt's magnetic properties. The stability and potential technological applications of these bimetallic nanoparticles make them promising candidates for various fields.

The Role of Adsorption in the Photocatalytic Decomposition of Dyes on APTES-Modified TiO2 Nanomaterials

Ewelina Kusiak-Nejman et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of adsorption in the photocatalytic degradation of dyes using APTES-modified TiO2 nanomaterials. The APTES modification effectively suppressed phase transformation and sintering of TiO2 crystallites, and surface charge affected the adsorption of cationic and anionic dyes. Changes in adsorption properties significantly influenced the efficiency of photocatalytic oxidation reactions for methylene blue and Orange II dyes.

Role of laser fluence in decoration of graphene nanosheets with TiO2 nanoparticles by pulsed laser ablation method

Nafise Ebrahim Jasbi et al.

Summary: A simple and green method is introduced to decorate graphene nanosheets with TiO2 nanoparticles. The decorated graphene/TiO2 nanocomposites show improved photocatalytic performance due to higher absorption intensity and charge transfer between graphene nanosheets and TiO2 nanoparticles. The number and size of TiO2 nanoparticles on graphene nanosheets can be easily tuned by laser fluence.
