Integrated analysis of the metabolome, transcriptome and miRNome reveals crucial roles of auxin and heat shock proteins in the heat stress response of loquat fruit

Yongping Chen et al.

Summary: Loquat is a subtropical tree with fruits ripening during late spring; high temperature and light intensity sunburn are severe stress factors affecting its productivity. The study provides insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the thermal stress responses of loquat fruit, with identified hormone changes and involvement of various pathways in the heat stress response.

Synthesis of Abscisic Acid in Neopyropia yezoensis and Its Regulation of Antioxidase Genes Expressions Under Hypersaline Stress

Jiali Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the synthesis of ABA and its regulation on stress-responsive genes in Neopyropia yezoensis. The results show that ABA can alleviate oxidative stress in N. yezoensis and its synthesis pathway is similar to the carotenoid pathway in higher plants. Furthermore, the emergence of the ABA signaling pathway in N. yezoensis can be traced back to an ancestral pathway.

Integration of the transcriptome and proteome provides insights into the mechanism calcium regulated of Ulva prolifera in response to high-temperature stress

Meihua Fan et al.

Summary: Heat stress is a significant factor limiting the growth and productivity of Ulva prolifera. This study investigated the effects of exogenous CaCl2 and the CaM inhibitor W-7 on the physiology, transcriptome, and proteome of U. prolifera under high temperature conditions. The findings suggest that the calcium signaling pathway plays a role in U. prolifera's response to high temperature by regulating the expression of related genes and proteins. Furthermore, CaCl2 increased antioxidant enzyme activity in U. prolifera, while W7 inhibited the activity. These findings provide important insights into the adaptation mechanisms of U. prolifera to high temperature stress.

Effects of temperature on the nitrate reductase activity and growth of Ulva prolifera

Lina Feng et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different temperatures on Ulva prolifera growth and nitrate reductase activity. An optimized in vitro analysis method for Ulva prolifera NRA was developed and showed the optimal conditions for the assay. The study found that Ulva prolifera cultivated in a range of 10-20 degrees Celsius had a longer growth cycle, with a positive correlation between algal growth and NRA.

Exogenous Abscisic Acid Confers Salinity Tolerance in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii During Its Life Cycle

Said Abu-Ghosh et al.

Summary: The study found that abscisic acid can promote the growth and photosynthesis of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, increase its tolerance to high-salinity stress, reduce the generation of reactive oxygen species, and prevent cell formation of palmella under high salt conditions.
