Light-Switchable and Self-Healable Polymer Electrolytes Based on Dynamic Diarylethene and Metal-Ion Coordination

Hui Nie et al.

Summary: Self-healing polymer electrolytes with light-switchable conductivity were developed using dynamic N-donor ligand-containing diarylethene (DAE) and multivalent Ni2+ metal-ion coordination. These electrolytes exhibit fast exchange kinetics and self-healing capabilities under mild conditions. Controllable binding strength of the polymer can be achieved through irradiation, leading to resistance modulation and recovery in solid films.

Photochromic holo-cellulose wood-based aerogel grafted azobenzene derivative by SI-ATRP

Ming Li et al.

Summary: Wood aerogel was obtained from wood and then fabricated into a photochromic wood aerogel (PWA) through surface modification. PWA showed good compression resilience and enhanced hydrophobicity, with the ability to change color under UV light and sunlight. This lightweight and photosensitive material has potential applications in optical information storage materials and photosensitive devices.

Photoswitchable Composite Polymer Electrolytes Using Spiropyran-Immobilized Nanoporous Templates

Yu-Liang Lin et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates photoresponsive composite polymer electrolytes by combining gel polymer electrolyte with spiropyran-immobilized nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide templates. The polarization of AAO surfaces is controlled by UV and visible light irradiation, and the electrostatic interactions between ions and AAO surfaces are investigated. The behavior of ionic conductivity is found to be consistent with the kinetics of isomerization.
