Sub-5 nm porous polymer decoration toward superhydrophobic MOFs with enhanced stability and processability

Siyi Rong et al.

Summary: In this study, polymers with hydrophobic pores (PIMs) were used to decorate metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in order to improve their water stability and shapeability. The results showed that the decorated MOFs exhibited impressive water resistance and pore preservation ability, making them suitable for the fabrication of oil-water separators.

Design and applications of surfaces that control the accretion of matter

Abhishek Dhyani et al.

Summary: This article discusses the significant impact of synthetic surfaces inspired by natural surfaces on various commercial applications, as well as the design strategies for controlling the accumulation of different material states and fouling length scales. The designed surfaces need to effectively control the accrual across multiple phases and fouling length scales, with liquid and solid repellent surfaces typically designed to control a single state of matter.
