This document provides a practical guide for the imaging findings of cardiac amyloidosis, highlighting red flags for diagnosis and offering tips for image acquisition and interpretation. It also offers recommendations for standard reporting of an echocardiogram in a patient with cardiac amyloidosis, based on comprehensive literature from multiple societies.
This document was created by an American Society of Echocardiog-raphy Amyloidosis Taskforce as a practical accompaniment to the recently published multisociety Expert Consensus Recommendations for Multimodality Imaging in Cardiac Amyloidosis.1,2 In this docu-ment we will outline the common echocardiographic imaging find-ings of cardiac amyloidosis (CA), highlighting red flags that should raise suspicion for the diagnosis. We will also provide tips for image acquisition and interpretation. Based on the comprehensive multiso-ciety document on imaging of CA,1,2 this document will also provide recommendations for standard reporting of an echocardiogram in a patient with CA.
