Exergy, energy and economic analysis of a V-groove assist rotating tray type solar cabinet dryer for drying potato chips

Chandan Kumar Sethi et al.

Summary: The study compared the performance of a V-grooved type air collector with rotating trays and a flat plate air collector in drying potato chips, finding that the V-grooved type had higher exergy and energy efficiency. The temperature of the air at the inlet and outlet of the collector and drying chamber was found to significantly affect the exergy value.

Garlic dehydration inside heat exchanger-evacuated tube assisted drying system: Thermal performance, drying kinetic and color index

Anand Kushwah et al.

Summary: An experimental investigation was conducted on an advanced evacuated tube-assisted solar drying system under different water flow rates, resulting in the highest drying rate and efficiency of solar collector and solar dryer at 30 L/h water flow rate. The drying process of garlic in the system maintained good quality, with color preservation better than traditional drying methods.

Enviro-economical feasibility of groundnut drying under greenhouse and indoor forced convection hot air dryers

Mahesh Kumar et al.

Summary: This study compared the drying cost of groundnut under different modes and found that greenhouse drying modes have lower cost. Critical parameters such as EPBT, CO2 mitigation, and carbon credit earn were evaluated to study the cost analysis of a greenhouse dryer. EPBT was found to be about 1.66, 1.72, and 4.67 years for different drying modes.

Effect of Maturing Stages on Bioactive Properties, Fatty Acid Compositions, and Phenolic Compounds of Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) Kernels Harvested at Different Harvest Times

Ahmad Mohammad Salamatullah et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of harvesting time on the physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, fatty acid composition, and phenolic compounds of peanut kernels. Different harvesting times led to significant variations in the moisture content, oil content, total carotenoid, chlorophyll, phenolic content, antioxidant activity, and the composition of fatty acids and phenolic compounds in the peanut kernels.
