A high-efficiency energy regenerative shock absorber for powering auxiliary devices of new energy driverless buses

Hai Li et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new type of regenerative shock absorber to capture the wasted kinetic energy of the vehicle suspension system and generate electricity for application in new energy driverless buses. The regenerative shock absorber consists of four modules and has been shown to effectively scavenge renewable energy in bench tests.

Field measurements of the harvestable power potentiality of an off-road sport-utility vehicle

Mohamed A. A. Abdelkareem et al.

Summary: This study experimentally analyzed and quantified the energy dissipated by the passive telescopic damper of an off-road SUV. Real-road driving scenarios were proposed at speeds of 10-40 km/h including off-road and city-road driving. The results showed that the damper dissipated different amounts of energy in different road conditions at different speeds, with six times more energy dissipated in the rebound phase compared to the compression phase.
