Two new polyphosphates, Rb2CaBi2P4O15 and Rb(3)SrBiP(4)O(14), were synthesized through high-temperature solid-state reactions. The crystals of Rb2CaBi2P4O15 and Rb3SrBiP4O14 were found to have different structures and compositions. The synthesis, spectroscopic properties, and theoretical calculations were also investigated.
Two new polyphosphates Rb2CaBi2P4O15 and Rb(3)SrBiP(4)O(14 )were synthesized through the conventional high-temperature solid-state reactions. Single crystal measurement indicates that Rb2CaBi2P4O15 crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P2(1)/c and Rb3SrBiP4O14 crystallizes in the noncentrosyrnmetric space group P2(1)2(1)2(1). Rb2CaBi2P4O15 consists of [CaO6], [BiO6], [BiO5], [P2O7] dimer and isolated [PO4] tetrahedron, while Rb3SrBiP4O14 consists of [BiO5], [SrO7] and [P2O7] dimer. They are both composed of [P2O7] dimer and the Bi-P2O7 ring. In addition, the synthesis, IR spectra, UV-vis-NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy data, thermal stability and theoretical calculation have been reported.
