Electrochemical sensing of serotonin by silver decorated polypyrrole nanoribbon based electrode synthesized by sodium cholate as soft template

Summary: A polypyrrole (PPY) nanoribbon based nanocomposite decorated with Ag metal (PPY-Ag) was successfully fabricated as a working electrode for electrochemical sensing of serotonin. Small molecule based water-soluble fluorescence material for highly selective and ultra-sensitive detection of TNT: Design and spectrofluorimetric determination in real samples

Summary: A novel water-soluble double-anthracene bridged material was designed and synthesized for ultrasensitive and highly selective spectrofluorimetric determination of TNT in aqueous media. The fluorescent sensor demonstrated a turn-off response towards TNT through intermolecular pi-pi and CH-pi stacking interactions, providing effective electron transfer. The spectrofluorimetric determination of TNT in environmental waters was performed under optimized conditions and accuracy was evaluated with HPLC and spike/recovery test.

A hybrid nanosensor based on novel fluorescent iron oxide nanoparticles for highly selective determination of Hg2+ ions in environmental samples

Summary: Iron oxide nanoparticle-based chemosensors with fluorescent components have been developed for the detection of heavy metal ions, particularly Hg2+. Novel fluorescent iron oxide nanoparticles (Py@Fe2O3) were prepared and characterized for sensitive and selective determination of Hg2+. The sensor showed promising results for accurate quantification of Hg2+ in environmental samples, below the permissible limit set by the World Health Organization.
