Dielectric dispersion and relaxations in (PMMA/PVDF)/ZnO nanocomposites

M. I. Mohammed

Summary: In this study, the effects of ZnO nanoparticles on PMMA/PVDF blend were investigated by using solution-cast technique to prepare nanocomposites. FTIR and SEM studies were conducted to analyze the properties. The results showed that the nanocomposites exhibited high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss, making them suitable for capacitors and memory device applications.

Additive manufacturing of polymer-derived ceramics: Materials, technologies, properties and potential applications

Raghvendra Pratap Chaudhary et al.

Summary: This review summarizes the recent research progress on the additive manufacturing of preceramic polymers (PCPs) and the corresponding polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs) for different applications. The synthesis methods of various PCPs and their tunable chemical formulations for AM processes are discussed. The review also compares the advantages and drawbacks of PDC technology and AM technologies with PCPs in comparison to powder-based ceramic 3D printing. Furthermore, the complex-shaped PDC structures, their properties, and potential applications are discussed.

Investigations on dielectric properties of PVDF/PMMA blends

Farah Deeba et al.

Summary: In this study, PVDF/PMMA blend films were prepared by solution casting technique, and their structural characterization was conducted using XRD and FTIR techniques. The dielectric behavior of the blend films was investigated using a Wanyne Kerr 6500B impedance analyzer. The results showed that the presence of the beta-phase in the blend films affected the dielectric properties, and its concentration increased with PVDF content up to 30 wt%.

Complex dielectric, complex electric modulus, and electrical conductivity in Al/(Graphene-PVA)/p-Si (metal-polymer-semiconductor) structures

Seda Karadas et al.

Summary: This study investigated the electrical properties of Al/(5% Gr-PVA)/p-Si structures using impedance measurements and found that using a high dielectric organic interface layer such as (5% Gr-PVA) can significantly increase the capacitance in a capacitor. The values of complex dielectric and electric modulus were influenced by frequency, while lower M' values at low frequencies were related to the mobility of charge carriers. Peaks observed in tan delta-V and M''-V plots varied in magnitude and position with changing frequency, suggesting the importance of the (5% Gr-PVA) organic interlayer for its flexibility, low energy consumption, and simple growth process.

Achieving Concurrent High Energy Density and Efficiency in All-Polymer Layered Paraelectric/Ferroelectric Composites via Introducing a Moderate Layer

Shengbiao Sun et al.

Summary: Dielectric polymer capacitors are widely used in advanced electronics due to their high power density, but achieving high energy density and discharge efficiency remains a challenge. A novel all-polymer trilayer structure is proposed to address this issue by combining different polymers with specific properties to optimize the electric field distribution, resulting in significantly improved breakdown strength, energy density, efficiency, and cycling stability.

Frequency and voltage-dependent dielectric spectroscopy characterization of Al/(Coumarin-PVA)/p-Si structures

Selcuk Demirezen et al.

Summary: The study investigated the frequency/voltage dependence of various parameters for Al/(Coumarin: PVA)/p-Si structures, revealing a strong influence of surface states, their life/relaxation time, series resistance, and polarization processes. The restructuring and reordering of N-ss under electric field and polarization were observed with increasing frequency. The dispersion in epsilon ' and epsilon '' at lower frequencies was attributed to the N-ss, Maxwell-Wagner-type polarizations.

Significantly enhanced dielectric permittivity and low loss in epoxy composites incorporating 3d W-WO3/BaTiO3 foams

Wenqiang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new design strategy for high dielectric permittivity composite materials, achieving high dielectric permittivity and low loss simultaneously by introducing W-WO3/BaTiO3 foam into an epoxy matrix and increasing the oxidation temperature. Finite element simulation results show that the formation of a WO3 shell on the surface of W helps weaken the leakage current density and significantly reduce the loss.
