Production of metallic ion beams by electron cyclotron resonance ion sources equipped with inductive heating ovens at the Institute of Modern Physics

W. Lu et al.

Summary: The high-temperature oven developed in 2019 at the Institute of Modern Physics operates stably at over 2000 degrees C and has successfully addressed material compatibility issues. This technology has been applied to SECRAL-II and a mini-inductive heating oven tested in 2020 for LECR4 and LECR5, producing high charge state calcium beams.

Probing pure and mixed neon ECR plasma-An effort for understanding the mechanism of isotope anomaly and gas mixing effect

Puneeta Tripathi et al.

Summary: The study investigates the charge state distributions of neon ECR plasma to explore the gas mixing effect and isotope anomaly mechanism. The results show that mixing oxygen with neon is more effective than helium, leading to increased ion intensities. Furthermore, the isotope anomaly tends to diminish with higher fractions of oxygen and helium gas mixing.
